Nail Fungus
Treatment

At Infinite Podiatry, we provide innovative nail fungus removal treatments to our patients to help them regain healthy, clear nails. Nail fungus is very uncomfortable and embarrassing. With modern improvements in treatment, this is now a condition that can be effectively attended to. We educate on which solution is best for you, ranging from ant-biotics, topical treat, emt of laser therpy.

We offer modern, clinic-based laser treatment for fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) as part of a personalised management plan that includes assessment, nail care and prevention advice.

What is laser treatment for fungal nails?

What is laser treatment for fungal nails?
Laser treatment uses concentrated light energy targeted at the nail and nail bed to heat and disrupt the fungi responsible for onychomycosis. It’s a non-invasive procedure performed in clinic with no cutting or anaesthetic — most people tolerate it very well.

Who may benefit?

Laser treatment can be a good option if you:

  • Have confirmed fungal nail infection and prefer a device-based (non-oral) option.
Cannot take oral antifungal tablets because of liver disease, drug interactions or personal preference.
  • Want a treatment with minimal downtime and little to no systemic side effects?
  • We always confirm the diagnosis first (clinical assessment and, when appropriate, nail sampling) because other nail conditions can mimic fungal infection.

What to expect during treatment?

What is laser treatment for fungal nails?

  • An initial assessment: we examine the nails, talk about your medical history, discuss realistic outcomes and (if needed) take a sample to confirm the fungus.

  • Typical course: most clinics use a course of multiple sessions (commonly 3–6 treatments) spaced over weeks — the exact number depends on how many nails are involved and the severity. Sessions are usually with in one week of a general treatment after the nail is cleaned and prepared for laser.

Effectiveness — What does the evidence say?

Laser therapy is a safe and quick, device-based option that can improve the appearance of infected nails and reduce fungal load in many patients. Systematic reviews and clinical studies show promising results, but outcomes vary by laser type, treatment protocol and nail severity — and complete, guaranteed “cures” are not guaranteed for every patient. We will discuss expected results for your situation at the consultation.
